Use wind rope correctly

While camping, I found an interesting phenomenon. Many tents in the camp, some of which are built very flat, do not move even if the wind blows; But some tents are very fragile and crooked, and one of them was even blown into a nearby river by a strong wind.

Why is this happening? The difference is the windproof rope. Tents that use wind ropes correctly will be very stable.

1. What is a windbreak?

Windproof ropes are usually ropes used to fix tents or tarpaulins on the ground to provide support for tents.

Second, the role of wind rope

Step 1 let the tent stand

With the help of wind rope and nails, a tent can be built completely.

2. Provide more stability

It will provide support for the tent, increase the stability and supporting force of the tent, make it stable in windy environment, and withstand the attack of snow or rain.

3. Keep ventilated

Usually, a tent with good quality will be provided with two layers, the inner layer will be supported by post poles, and the outer layer will be laid outside (of course, there are other ways to build it). It will be separated from the inner tent at a certain distance by the force of wind rope and nails, which is essential for air circulation and condensation prevention.

4. More space

The outward stretching of the windproof rope and the ground nail will make the tent all open, such as the corner areas, to provide more space.

5. Complete the construction of the front and back part of the tent.

Most tents are equipped with front-out, and this part needs the support of windproof rope to complete the construction.

Now you know the important role of the windbreak rope. However, when you tie the windbreak rope, you find another problem. How can you tie a rope that looks easy to give full play to its supporting role? Next, take KingCamp tent as an example to explain the correct usage of the lower windbreak rope.

Third, the correct usage of wind rope

There will always be such a three-hole slider on the windproof rope. If you master the usage of the slider, you will learn the correct usage of the windproof rope.

Note: One end of the slider is knotted, and the other end is the unswept end.

Step 1: Thread one end of the windproof rope without sliding piece into the buttonhole of the tent, fasten it, and then start to adjust one end of the sliding piece.

Step 2: Pull out the loop rope near the end rope tail in the slide and cover the ground nail. No matter what kind of account nail you use, it is used to tighten it.

Step 3: Select the location of the ground nail according to the ground conditions. Generally speaking, the smaller the angle between the wind rope and the ground, the better the wind resistance of the tent. Insert the ground nail into the ground at an oblique angle of 45-60 degrees, so as to get the maximum force.

Step 4: Tighten the front end of the windbreak rope with one hand, and hold the three-hole slide with the other hand to push it closer to the tent end. Tighten up, the tighter the better.

Step 5: Loosen your hands. If the whole tent rope is still tight, it means that the windproof rope is set up. If it is found to be loose, keep tightening it according to the above method.

Have you got the secret? Give it a try when camping!
